Baseet

Baseet is a hybrid Neo-Naskh / Modern Kufi geometric typeface. It is a mixture of straight vertical, horizontal and diagonal pen stokes incorporated in-between curved corners and edges. The structure of the letters that merges sharp edges with smooth round corners give the font a dynamic characteristic and contemporary feel.

A contemporary Latin set of letters compliment the overall structure of the Arabic letter, which lends Baseet a homogenous bi-script Arabic/Latin feel. Both scripts have similar typographic behavior and were designed to match each other in structure, weight, width, posture, color and feel. Baseet Latin is a mono-spaced type.

Baseet can be used for Display and Body text.

The font was initially created for the ContempArabia event in the Gulf Region. Baseet was using to the Logotype of the event as well as to be using to typeset all the corporate identity, publications, promotional items and website of the event.
